About

Sigrid Pohl Perry was born near Hamburg, Germany to a family whose ancestors lived in the Lublin, Poland area for almost a century before being resettled by the Nazis to northern Poland in 1940 and fleeing west from the Russian army five years later. She and her immediate family immigrated to Illinois in 1952 while other members of the clan homesteaded on the Alberta prairie or remained in Germany.
